Hold Me Tight

"Hold Me Tight" Painting was created as a series of painting for a joint Three-Way Exhibition for Margate Pride Art Map 2026.

This piece was a play on exploration of queer bodies and intimacy. Often queer intimacy isn’t explored or represented liberally in public media. This painting tries to explore the softness within masculinity while also pushing the often socially censored desire between intimate partners. Exploring the emotive feelings when you are close to someone-the push and pull that you may feel and may be too scared to explore or talk about.

I created this painting with loose and bold brushstrokes carrying emotion. Creating a soft rawness that feels like you are somehow captured in the moment. It has a very tactile feel and the colours feel familiar embodying a range of skin tones.
